Assessment rationale
Planetary-protection programs already use contamination control, bioburden knowledge, cleanliness, documentation, trajectory analysis, and sample-return safeguards to protect scientific integrity and Earth's biosphere. Broader biosafety transfer is plausible and partly embedded in these practices, but it is not a substitute for clinical, laboratory, public-health, or biosecurity regulation.

Assumptions and limits
The assessment applies to this bounded statement and the cited source scopes. A source can support one relationship without validating a generation ship, and an editorial grade does not substitute for independent review or representative demonstration.
What would change this conclusion?
Comparative incident, audit, and validation evidence must show which planetary-protection practices improve a named biosafety or contamination-control outcome and where transfer fails. Laboratory, medical, environmental, and security authorities would still need to approve their own controls; misuse or overclaiming would narrow the benefit.
