Questions and exclusions

Required questions

  1. Required question 1 (exact ID: question-1)
Does each evidence basis, readiness level, confidence level, rationale, and locator match the frozen sources?
  2. Required question 2 (exact ID: question-2)
Are dependencies, failure modes, precursors, unknowns, Earthside benefits, and the stop gate technically and ethically bounded?
  3. Required question 3 (exact ID: question-3)
Which conclusion should be approved, revised, contested, rejected, or recused from at its current fingerprint?

Explicit exclusions

  • A system packet is not a complete spacecraft design, feasibility proof, safety case, or launch authorization.
  • Context sources do not become direct support unless the record says so with an exact locator and relation.

Requested controlled scopes: clinical-health, human-factors, information-science, systems-engineering

Frozen-evidence decision window: 365 days from the packet freeze. Not applicable to this packet family.

Complete primary record set

Every record below has one primary packet owner. Decisions must bind to the exact record and packet fingerprints; a changed lesson body, evidence grade, citation, locator, source snapshot, requirement, policy, release, or commit expires the old packet.

    Thesis
Medicine aboard a generation ship is a complete public-health system across conception, childhood, adulthood, aging, disability, emergency care, and death.
    Current State
    1. Evidence from small, highly selected adult occupational cohorts—mostly in low Earth orbit—identifies risks involving radiation, bone, muscle, vision, sleep, behavior, and immune function but does not establish lifetime outcomes for a diverse civil population.
    2. Remote clinical decision support, tissue models, omics, analogs, and commercial-astronaut repositories are active research areas.
    3. No documented human has completed gestation, birth, or childhood development in an off-Earth environment.
    Unknowns
    1. Pregnancy, placental function, birth, pediatric development, lifetime fertility, and transgenerational effects in altered gravity remain unknown.
    2. Pharmaceutical manufacture, shelf life, surgery, dentistry, intensive care, and rare-disease management lack independent support chains.
    3. Clinical privacy and authority may conflict with mission command, population planning, and public-health surveillance.
    Earth Benefits
    1. Bounded, prospectively validated clinical decision support and resilient medical supply may benefit rural care, maritime operations, disaster medicine, and aging populations; local monitoring, abstention, provenance, appeal, and an AI-off care path remain required.
    2. Closed-habitat epidemiology and environmental surveillance improve hospitals, ships, schools, and shelters.
    Dependencies
    1. structures-shielding
    2. ecology-food
    3. ai-autonomy
    4. governance-law
    Gate
Do not rely on reproduction until independent evidence supports the intended environment and the architecture remains viable under voluntary reproductive choices, accessible clinical care, privacy, appeal, disability support, and no coercive quotas.

    Failure Modes
    1. A diagnosis, surgery, drug, implant, or specialist skill is unavailable when evacuation and resupply are impossible.
    2. Chronic radiation, low gravity, isolation, or constrained diet creates multi-system illness outside current evidence.
    Precursors
    1. Remote and austere medicine, autonomous diagnostics, shelf-life extension, and distributed medical manufacturing.

    Rationale
NASA and CDC document environmental monitoring and targeted surveillance for bounded spacecraft and healthcare settings, including important limits on undirected sampling. Detection of an organism or resistance marker does not by itself establish viability, transmission, infection, clinical consequence, or a beneficial intervention. Any transfer to another shared-air or shared-water setting requires a validated purpose, action threshold, confirmation path, privacy boundary, intervention, and setting-specific outcome evaluation.

Validate offline

Use Node.js 22.13.0 or later. Keep the packet, worksheet, completed decision, and all six kit files together in a local directory.

  1. Download the six kit files below. Complete a copy of the JSON template offline and preserve its templateFingerprint.
  2. Finalize a separate output file.
    node finalize-review-decision.mjs \
      --input DRAFT.json \
      --output COMPLETED.json

This marks the copy complete and calculates an unkeyed canonical bundle fingerprint. A fingerprint detects changes; it is not a reviewer signature.

  3. Validate the packet and completed copy.
    node check-review-decisions.mjs \
      --packet PACKET.json \
      --decision COMPLETED.json

Add another --decision for each independent reviewer.

  4. Interpret the result narrowly. A zero exit proves structural consistency only. Neither command appoints or qualifies a reviewer, establishes independence, accepts a decision, or authorizes publication.

Completion criteria

Every primary record must receive the required number of valid, current-fingerprint approvals; every complementary scope group and required domain must be covered; any unresolved revise, contest, or reject disposition blocks publication.

Named medical, reproductive, nuclear, radiation, cybersecurity, governance, and dual-use conclusions require two distinct qualified independent humans covering complementary domain-method and rights/public-interest scopes.

  • Reviewer identity, qualification, independence, conflicts, and compensation must be assessed by accountable human governance; local validation can only report structural validity.
  • Approve, revise, contest, reject, and recuse remain visible. A negative finding cannot be hidden by an aggregate approval percentage.
  • Revision creates a new record and packet fingerprint. Prior approvals do not carry forward automatically.
  • AI may assist with clerical comparison but cannot count as an independent reviewer, identity attestor, appeal authority, or second person.

Assumptions and limits

  • The exact packet, record, source, policy, release, and source-commit fingerprints bound this prepared page; human review has not started.
  • Downloading, local structural validation, or completing notes does not appoint or qualify a reviewer, establish independence, accept a decision, authorize publication, or create a relationship.

What would change this page?

Staffed governance, appointed qualified reviewers, completed record-level decisions, published conflicts, minority findings, corrections, or changed review policy would change this page.
